Golden West Marching Band & Guard
The Trailblazer Marching Band and Color Guard is a dedicated and accomplished ensemble that performs at football games, parades, community events, and competitions throughout California. Made up of students from Golden West’s band, percussion, and color guard classes, the group combines musicianship, athleticism, and teamwork to create engaging performances. Members participate in an extensive rehearsal schedule throughout the summer and fall, developing the skills and discipline needed for a successful season.
Golden West Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Band is made up of dedicated student musicians who perform a wide variety of music, including swing, Latin, funk, contemporary jazz, and classic big band charts. Featuring saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section, the ensemble performs at school events, community performances, festivals, and competitions throughout California. Through hard work and a shared passion for music, the Jazz Band continues to represent the program with energy, musicianship, and pride.
Golden West Winter Guard 2023 SVWAA (South Valley Winter Arts Association) Gold Medal Winners
The GWHS Winter Guard is a competitive indoor performance ensemble that combines dance, flag work, rifle, and saber performance with music and theatrical storytelling. During the winter season, members rehearse and compete throughout California as part of the South Valley Winter Arts Association (SVWAA). Open to all Golden West students through an audition process, Winter Guard provides performers with opportunities to develop teamwork, performance skills, and artistic expression while representing Golden West at regional competitions and community events.
Golden West Winter Percussion
Winter Percussion is a competitive indoor ensemble that combines the energy of the drumline with the musicality of the front ensemble to create engaging performances that blend music, movement, and visual design. During the winter season, members rehearse and compete throughout California as part of the South Valley Winter Arts Association (SVWAA). Open to Golden West percussion students through an audition process, Winter Percussion provides performers with opportunities to develop advanced musical, technical, and performance skills while representing Golden West at regional competitions and community events.
